A new blog focused on local issues and affairs in the South Bay burst onto the scene earlier today and threw the blogger community into a state of disarray.
The blog, which uses a copyright free photograph of Santa Clara County's famous Mount Umunhum as its symbol, is named "Mount Um Malcontent" and will record the grumpy and dyspeptic sentiments of a long time South San Jose and Almaden Valley resident, Thomas H.
H, whose real name is a closely held secret, pledges that he will "pull no punches", "tell it like it is", and avoid cliches "like the plague."
Other bloggers familiar with the territory, expressed a mixture of skepticism and dismay:
"Never heard of anyone named H", said one blogger. "It sounds more like a rapper than a blogger".
"I have no idea what the guy's up to", said another. "In fact, I don't even know if it is a guy."
An air of tense anticipation seemed to settle over the South Bay.
"We'll just have to wait and see what he puts out there", said a veteran blogger. "That's assuming it is a 'he'", he added with a hint of conspiratorial innuendo.
"After all, it could be a 'she'".
